I am a Cuban violist, composer and producer based in Amsterdam. I recorded with Snarky Puppy (We Like It Here, Grammy Award) and have performed with ROSALÍA, Stromae, the Mondriaan Quartet and The Cinematic Orchestra. I was principal viola of the European Union Baroque Orchestra.
My current work, Ainthropos, trains an offline machine-learning system to play as the fifth performer of my string quartet, StringLAB.
I play a J. N. Leclerc viola (Paris, 1776).

Violist, composer & music producer — working between classical performance, live electronics and machine learning.
I have been working as a violist and educator for over twenty years, across early, contemporary and electronic music. I compose and arrange for string ensembles and cross-genre projects, and my work sits at the intersection of live performance, human–computer interaction and machine learning applied to classical music.
Principal viola of the European Union Baroque Orchestra, performing with Alfredo Bernardini, Maggie Faultless, Bojan Čičić and Lars Ulrik Mortensen. Co-principal viola of the European Union Chamber Orchestra and the Noordpool Orkest; principal viola with Camerata Amsterdam, Florilegium Musicum and the Haags Barok Orkest. Guest with the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century, the Residentie Orkest, the Gran Teatre del Liceu Symphony and the ADDA Symphony. Since 2021, Pynarello Orkest.
Chamber music with Hansjörg Schellenberger, Ramon Jaffé, Andreas Frölich, Revital Hachamoff, Edith Salzmann, Paul Rivinius, Viacheslav Poprugin, Kamilla Schatz, and the Mondriaan Kwartet together with André Wilms and Heiner Goebbels. Stages: Concertgebouw, Philharmonie de Paris, Berliner Philharmonie, Teatro Real, Teatro del Liceu, North Sea Jazz.
As a soloist I premiered the clouds receding into the mountains by O. Jacinto García with the Mozarteum Orchestra (2019) and El Giasemí by Feliú Gasul with Coral Cantiga (2019). In 2016 I gave a solo concert and a talk on Cuban and African culture at the United Nations in Paris.
I compose and arrange for the Fuse Ensemble, LAKSHMI and the International Harp Festival. I write original music for film — Alma, Evelyn, Gris — and I have worked with live electronics since 2017, when I took the Electronic Music Certificate at SAE Amsterdam. In 2021 I completed the Game Audio Design and Production certificate at Berklee.
Ainthropos, my current work, trains an offline machine-learning system to play as the fifth performer of my string quartet, StringLAB. Nothing leaves the room.
